Tilly got his first acting gig as an elf in a Calgary Co-op Christmas commercial and (after surviving what it did to his elementary school social life) went on to a career performing in musicals and plays across Canada, from large thousand seat theatres to small intimate venues.  So all in all, he’s glad he donned the fake ears and beard.

Highlights of Tilly’s performing career have included playing Action in West Side Story for Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre, the four-hander I Love you, You’re Perfect, Now Change!  for Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon and Stage West Calgary, the lead role of the traveler in Somewhere in the World… at the Charlottetown Festival and the national premiere of Bat Boy the musical in Toronto.

Perhaps his most challenging gig to date was understudying two leads and four ensemble roles for the Canadian national cast of Jersey Boys, for which Tilly received plenty of stage time as both Tommy Devito and Bob Gaudio.

Tilly has also seen a fair bit of the country on the national tour of Red Rock Diner, the Newfoundland tour ofBrand New Beat, the Ontario tour of Anne and Gilbert, as well as swinging down through the states with the Roseneath Theatre’s play for young audiences Wrecked!, which toured from Tacoma WA to North Carolina.

Tilly is a CAEA and ACTRA member.
